Church of our Lord’s Ascension of the Monastery Ravanica – Senje, Ćuprija
Monastery Ravanica was built between 1375 and 1381 as endowment of the emperor Lazar Hrebeljanović. The narthex of the monastery church was built later, most probably in XVII or XVIII century. The socle of the church, built of local limestone and old format brick, was damaged to the great extent: brick was dilapidated and falling apart, especially in the area near the ground, joints were worn out, large or small pieces of brick and stone were missing. The socle of the narthex made of red sandstone was falling apart. Northern and southern facades of the church were sporadically dark in spots due to lichen, mould and moss.
